Abstract
Bad habits that have become a part of lifestyle could trigger detrimental effect on physical health, as well as neck pain. One case of neck pain that is often found is Cervical Root Syndrome. However, complaints that are often felt in the form of radiating pain, limited scope of motion of the joints that can inhibit or interfere with daily activities and also reduce the level of socialization in the environment. Modality chosen is in the form of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Cervical Spine Mobilization aimed at handling these complaints. To determine the benefits of giving Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) modalities in reducing pain, increasing Range of Motion (ROM), and increasing functional activity in cases of Cervical Root Syndrome. After physiotherapy 3 times from T0 to T3, pain reduction results were found, namely in silent pain from 2 to 0, motion pain from 6 to 2, and tenderness from 5 to 1. Increased ROM in the sagittal field of S 30-0-30 becomes S 40-0-35, the frontal plane of F 35-0-40 becomes F 40-0-45, and the rotation field of R 40-0 -40 becomes R 45-0-45. There was also an increase in functional activities with a Neck Disability Index score of 26 = 52% (severe disability), becoming 15 = 30% (moderate disability). Implementation of therapy with Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) modalities and Cervical Spine Mobilization, concluded a decreasing in pain, increasing of ROM, and increasing of functional activity.
