Abstract
Islamic Education is a conscious effort carried out by educators in preparing students to believe, understand, and practice the teachings of Islam through the activities of guidance, teaching or training that have been designed to achieve the stated goals. Educational learning methods are a way to convey material to study participants to achieve a predetermined goal. Because the use of the learning process method will be easier to convey. In the world of education the problem faced by Islamic religious education teachers is that they can carry out good learning, how to deliver material to students can be interesting and fun so that students can increase their interest in learning. Therefore the teacher must be smart in choosing the active learning strategy that is appropriate for the material to be delivered. The problems that will be discussed in this study are how to apply the active strategy in PAI learning in Surakarta 1 Public High School, what are the active learning strategies that have been implemented, then what are the supporting factors and obstacles to the implementation of active learning strategies in Surakarta Neeri 1 High School. Problem researchers use qualitative methods, types of field research, using data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documents. As for writing data used qualitative descriptive method. The implementation of the active learning strategy in PAI learning at Surakarta 1 Public High School was implemented since 2013. The implementation of the active learning strategy in PAI learning at Surakarta 1 Public High School went well. Active learning makes students active, creative, innovative, and have a high sense of responsibility. Active strategy learning models that have been implemented by Surakarta State Senior High School 1 PAI teachers include demostration, question and answer, problem solving, discussion, card short, information search, and jigsaw. The supporting factors in learning Islamic religious education, namely, the interest in learning students who are high, facilities or srana are very adequate. While the inhibiting factor is that sometimes the teacher still has difficulty in choosing the appropriate learning model for the material.
