Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of differences in aluminum recycled material on shrinkage, hardness, density, and microstructure of casting products with different aluminum materials. The test is testing chemical composition with ASTM E-1251 standard, testing microstructure with ASTM E3 standard, and testing hardness with ASTM E18-15 standard. The test results of the largest depreciation value at in-gate 10mm at 1.40%, followed by in-gate 12mm at 1.32%, and the smallest shrinkage at 14mm in-gate at 1.22%. At the density value obtained the largest density value in in-gat 10mm of 2.31 g / cm3, then in-gate 12 mm of 2.14 g / cm3, and the value of spilled at in-gate is 14 mm at 2.10 g / cm3. In testing the chemical composition contains 85.34% Al elements, 9.37% Si, and 2.12% Cu. In hardness testing using rockwell hardness test equipment obtained the highest hardness value at 10mm in gate with a value of 47.8 HRB, followed by in-gate12mm of 46.8 HRB, and the smallest value at 14mm in-gate of 39.6 HRB. From micro photo testing the results of the greatest violence were found in the increasingly tightly arranged elements. The difference in the hardness of the difference between used materials from Al elements and their alloys, so that it affects the depreciation value. The greater the value of depreciation, the greater the value of its density.
