Abstract

Extension type cerebral palsy spastic quadriplegi is a condition in which the muscles in the upper limbs, lower limbs, trunk and muscles that control the mouth experience spastic with a pattern that tends towards the trunk extension, thus limiting movement and affecting the functional ability of the sufferer. This study for determine whether spasticity in children with cerebral palsy spastic quadriplegi can be reduced by the Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT) approach. After 3 times the therapy, for checking the degree of spasticity with Asworth Scale, there was no change, for Flexor Shoulder, Extensor Shoulder, Flexor Elbow, Extensor Elbow, Flexor Hip, Extensor Hip, Flexor Knee, Extensor Knee from T1 to T3 1, to Dorsal Fleksi, Palmar Fleksi, Dorsal Fleksi, Plantar Fleksi from T1 3 to T3 3 and for functional development there is no change from T1 level V to T3 level V. So the conclusion is spasticity can be controlled with NDT, but requires a long period of therapy and regular therapy to reduce the degree of spasticity and improve functional development.
