Abstract
Biobriquettes are an alternative energy substitute for fossil fuels made from biomass. The material used in this study is water hyacinth and coconut shell. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of biobriquettes from a combination of water hyacinth and coconut shell with types of adhesives. This research method was a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern with two treatment factors. The first factor in the composition of the material in the form of a comparison of water hyacinth and coconut shell (25%: 75%, 50%: 50% and 75%: 25%) and the two types of adhesives (Fox glue and tapioca flour) with 2 replications. The physical test results showed that treatment of B1P2 produced the best biobriquette with a moisture content of 1.06% and ash content of 13.80% Keywords: water hyacinth, coconut shell, adhesive, characteristic test
