Abstract
Background: Cervical spondylotic myelopathy occurs when the spinal cord is either directly compressed or rendered ischemic by compression. This can caused by a congenitally small spinal canal or the normal degeration of structures of the cervical spine. Purpose: To determine the implementation of physiotherapy in reducing pain, increase range of motion, increase muscle strength, and increase activity and functional abilities with cervical traction modality, stretching, core stability and increased activity training. Result: After 3 times of therapy, the result of the assessment are decreased pain in tenderness T1: 3 to T3: 2, and motion pain T1: 6 to T3: 5, increasead range of motion in the neck region T1 S: 40°-0°-35° to T3 45°-0°-40°, T1 F: 45°-0°-35° to T3: F: 45°-0°-40°, T1 R: 65°-0°-50° to T3 R: 65°-0°-55°, in the shoulder region T1 S: 50°-0°-145° to T3 S: 55°-0°-150°, T1 F:130°-0°-40° to T3 F:135°-0°-40° and for hip region T1 S: 10°-0°-110° to T3 S: 15°-0°-115, T1 F: 45°-0°-30° to T3 F: 50°-0°- 30°, and T1 R: 45°-0°-35° to T3 R: 45°-0°-40°, increased of muscle strength in the neck region T1: 3 to T3: 3+, for shoulder region internal and external rotator T1: 4 to T3: 5, in hip region for abductor and adductor T1: 3 to T3: 4, internal rotator and tensor facia latae T1: 3 to T3: 4, and increased activity abilities functional T1: 11 to T3: 13 in JOA scale including the medium category. Conclusion: Cervical traction, stretching, core stability, and exercise increased activity can overcome the existing disorders in case of cervical spondylotic myelopathy.
