Abstract
Moss plants have cosmopolitan properties, which are able to live and develop in various places and conditions, but some other types have a limited distribution area. The tourist forest area of the Grojogan Sewu waterfall has high humidity, making it possible to find various moss plants. The purpose of this study was to identify the types of moss plants in the tourist forest area of Grojogan Sewu (Tawangmangu) waterfall in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. The location of the study was determined using a purposive sampling technique with an explorative method consisting of 2 stations with different heights, namely <1.000m asl and > 1.000m asl. The results obtained were found 8 species, including Marchantia polymorpha, Marchantia treubii Schiffn, Phaeoceros leavis, Bryum billardieri, Fissidens taxifolius, Heteroscyphus coalitus, Bryum australe and Polytrycum commune from 6 Orders (Marchantiales, Anthocerotales, Bryales, Jungermaniales, Polytrichales and Fissidentaceae) and 6 families (Marchantiaceae, Anthocerotaceae, Bryaceae, Lophocoleaceae, Polytrichaceae and Fissidentaceae). Based on the results of the association using SPSS, the frequency of presence that is often found is Marchantia treubii Schffin with a frequency of presence of 36.60% and the frequency of presence of at least Heterocyphus coalitus with a frequency of attendance of 4.88%.
