Abstract
The wood furniture industry is an informal sector worker who uses various types of wood as the main / main ingredient in the production process and applies traditional work methods. Every day workers work at workplaces that have a high source of noise and do not use personal protective equipment, especially ear protectors, so it is very likely that if they are not properly controlled for long periods of time workers will definitely experience hearing loss due to noise. The research objective was to analyze the relationship between noise intensity and hearing loss in furniture workers in Serenan, Juwiring, Klaten. This type of research is quantitative with Cros Sectional approach because the cause and effect variables that occur in research objects are measured or collected at the same time and carried out in the same situation. This research will be carried out in the household furniture industry in Serenan Village, Juwiring, Klaten in April 2019. The population in this study were household furniture industry workers in Serenan, Juwiring, Klaten villages, which totaled 295 workers. The results of the study were that there was a significant correlation between noise intensity and hearing loss with a p-value of 0,000 <α (0.05), so Ho was rejected which means there was a relationship between noise intensity and hearing loss in furniture workers. Noise sources contained in the production process come from the equipment used, such as a chainsaw (serkel), sanding machine, wedge, drilling machine, router, spindle and air compressor.
