Abstract

Set back from the refusal of a social movement "Dua Periode" that supports Joko Widodo to become President in elections in 2019. The #2019GantiPresiden phenomenon surfaced and was declared to be a polemic. This research uses the Spiral of Silence Theory that focuses on the house of an easy majority in giving his opinion and minorities who are likely to choose to hide it on the fence sign #2019GantiPresiden polemic. Researchers using a sample that has been calculated using the sample slovin formula as much as 180. On the validity of the test used the validity of the content and test reliability using Cronbach Alpha. Approach on this research using quantitative data analysis with descriptive. The results showed the existence of dominant minorities in communication sciences student UMS. This is demonstrated by not simply opinions and convey them in berpersepsi in the #2019GantiPresiden fence sign postings, be like, comment, to create social media messages is share. They only as passive as a reader who received information and nothing more than that.
