Abstract
Guru is one of the components in the learning process as an educator, and has an important influence that can determine the achievement of national education objectives. Because after completion of the learning process, students are expected to be able to master the material that has been taught that is intellectual ability (cognitive), attitude (affective), and ability to act (psychomotor). Therefore teachers are required to develop students ' creativity to support student learning achievement. Based on the problem above, the focus of research problem in MA Al-Islam Jamsaren Surakarta is: 1) How the PAI teacher's efforts in improving learning achievement in X-grade students, 2) work on class X learning achievements on PIE subjects, 3) What are the supporting and inhibitory factors in improving the learning achievement of grade X students. Then the research objectives are: 1) to describe the efforts of PAI teachers in improving the learning performance of grade X students, 2) to describe the study achievement of grade X students in PAI subjects, 3) to describe any supporting and inhibitory factors in enhancing the learning performance of grade X students. The benefits of research are: 1) Theoretical benefits: The results of this study hopefully can provide benefits and science, especially about the efforts of the teacher of Islamic religion in improving student achievement in Al-Islam Madrasah Aliyah Jamsaren Surakarta. 2) Practical Benefits: a) School: This research can be used as a guideline or referral to provide information and advice to other teachers in improving student learning performance, b) Future researchers: the results of this research as a research or support study related to the PAI teacher's efforts to improve student learning performance. This research includes field research using qualitative approaches. Data collection techniques using 3 (three) techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. While analysis of data using 3 (three) flow of activities that occur simultaneously namely reducing data, data presentation, and withdrawal of conclusions/verification. The results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the efforts of the PAI teachers in increasing the learning performance of grade X students in MA Al-Islam Jamsaren Suarakarta is 1) Provide motivation, 2) using varied methods, 3) deepening of the material, 4) evaluation deepening, 5) giving reward and punishment, 6) Look for as many material references as possible. As for the learning achievement of grade X students on PAI subjects (Aqidah Akhlak, Fiqh, SKI, Qur'an hadith) has increased according to the results of PTS 1 to PAS 1. Sedation Contributing factors: 1) Muslim students already have a religion, 2) Good school environment, 3) many material references. While the inhibitory factor: 1) Low student Learning interest, 2) time of the lesson hours less, 3) Students who do not enter school.
