Abstract

This study aims to find out, develop the use of comic media in landslide mitigation media and determine the level of effectiveness of comic media in landslide mitigation material in class XI Kebakkramat State High School. The development model uses the Thiagaraja 4D model. While the study design was carried out using one retest-posttest design group with a total of 72 respondents. The sampling technique uses two classes, namely, the control class and the experimental class while the data analysis technique used is the T-test. The results of product development produce landslide mitigation comic books with a size of 13 cm x 18.5 cm with the value of product feasibility from material experts and media experts with an average rating of 4.43 which falls into the category "GOOD". The results of effectiveness were carried out by looking at the increase in the average value, the control class experienced only a slight increase in understanding with a pretetst average of 53.47 and a posttest average of 75.56 while the experimental class increased by 28.47 points with an the pretest average was 50.97 and the posttest average was 79.44. Hypothesis test data that has been done shows that the significance is 0,000 (<0.05) which means that Ho is rejected and H_1 is accepted. So the use of comic book media is effective to increase the learning outcomes of class XI students at Kebakkramat State High School.
