Abstract

Love is a common thing and one that is suitable for humanity. In a married life, a husband should be able to act as a leader and coach, so that the love relationship (marriage) with his partner can survive and become better. This research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Participants in this study amounted to 6 subjects with the criteria of husbands aged ≥ 19 years selected by purposive sampling. The method of data collection is done through interviews in the form of semi-structured interviews. Data validity uses member checking techniques. Data analysis techniques used in research are content analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the meaning of love for a husband to his wife is seen to be able to give mutual attention, fulfill all needs, miss each other when far apart, complement the shortcomings of wives, fulfill material and spiritual needs and provide mutual support. There are 2 factors that influence the love of husband to wife, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors that arise from the research findings are faith, motivation, personality, evaluation, likes and dislikes and closeness. These factors can increase or decrease the love of husband to wife. So that if these factors increase, the husband's love for his wife will increase, and vice versa. While on the one hand there are external factors that influence a husband's love for his wife, namely problems, wife's faith, wife's motivation, wife's personality and closeness. Togetherness of the wife in facing problems by being concerned as well as fasting, worshiping and praying, able to provide support and maintain family closeness.
