Abstract

The study aims to illustrate and describe the dynamics of caregiving stress on mothers who have children with autistic spectrum disorders (GSA). The study used qualitative-descriptive methods with the selection of participants using purposive sampling. The informant in this research is the mother of children with the GSA in the city's Autistic service center, totalling seven people. Data retrieval techniques use semi-structured interviews. The results showed that the depiction of the nurturing stress dynamics of mothers who have children with GSA has different dynamics in each of its informants, it adjusts the stressors received by each informant. It can also be seen from the difference of the nurturing stress dynamics of mothers who have children under the age of 10 different from the dynamics of mothers who have children are older. The difference in the age side is apparent, on the form of self-caregiving stress. Other differences, can be seen from the the dynamics of parenting stress on mothers who have children with severe and moderate level autistic spectrum disorders. Mothers with children with severe autism spectrum disorders are gaining more pressure on child behavior that is more diverse than mothers with children with moderate-level autism disorders.
