Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Hypertension or high blood pressure is an increase in blood pressure in arteries that transports blood from the heart and then pumps Hypertension occurs due to heredity, age, and lifestyle such as consuming excess salt, consuming excessive fatty foods (obesity), behavior smoking, and lack of physical activity. An unhealthy lifestyle can cause hypertension and other degenerative diseases. Declining quality of life due to disruption of physical aspects such as having drug dependence, energy and fatigue, inhibited mobility, pain and discomfort, insufficient sleep and rest which can cause work capacity to decline. There are unstructured physical activities in the Pajang Community Health Center area such as gardening, selling, working odd jobs, and some are structured such as elderly gymnastics and hypertensive exercise. Hypertension sufferers in the Pajang Health Center area are willing and unwilling to take part in hypertension exercises held at the Posyandu. Research Objectives: This study aims to determine how the quality of life of physical aspects in hypertensive patients. Benefits: Can find out whether hypertensive patients in the Pajang Surakarta Health Center area have a quality of life of physical aspects that are good, sufficient, or lacking. Research method: This study uses a type of quantitative research, with a simple descriptive method to obtain an overview of the quality of life of physical aspects in hypertensive patients in the Pajang Surakarta Health Center area. Study sample: Hypertension sufferers found in Pajang Surakarta Health Center and selected based on sample criteria. Measurements used to measure the quality of life of physical aspects using WHO-QOL-BREF questions. Results: Statistical analysis was obtained, from 77 respondents, who had good quality physical aspects of life as many as 42 people (54.5%) and those who had enough quality of life aspects of physical aspects were 35 people (45.5%). Conclusion: The analysis concluded that the quality of life of physical aspects in hypertensive patients in the Pajang Surakarta Puskesmas area was good.
