Abstract
Self-confidence is a positive attitude that arises in an individual in the form of feelings, behaviors and beliefs to see that he is better than his abilities. The frequency of uploading information about yourself can be used to predict a person's personality, such as self-confidence. Uploading information is often done through Instagram social media. Instagram is an application that is currently popular with programs that can be used to share photos and videos to social networks to express themselves using their own captions, filters and characteristics. Instagram users are people who use Instagram social media often using this network because they can directly share content or content that is usually uploaded, namely instastory and quotes. This study aims to understand and describe the profile of confidence in Instagram users. This type of research used qualitative, descriptive narrative using an open questionnaire distributed through google form to prospective research subjects. Research subjects have criteria as instagram users aged 18-21 years. The results showed that Instagram users' confidence was very varied which was marked by wanting to exhibit activities to followers to seek attention, wanting to be known to others because they wanted to be popular, uploading content independently because they could be free with ourselves to determine the content to upload. The factors that influence self-confidence in the research subject are the duration per day in using Instagram for 6 to more than 10 hours, to be known by others through good uploads, the subscription period for Instagram for 5-9 years uploads photos to showcase the activities performed, male sex upload content independently compared to women who need other people and the Psychology study program is sure to get positive responses from others..
