Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) Tteacher empowerment strategy at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Kottabarat Surakarta Special Program. (2) Obstacles in the implementation of teacher empowerment strategies at the Muhammadiyah Elementary School in the Kottabarat Surakarta Special Program. (3) Solutions used to overcome obstacles in the implementation of teacher empowerment strategies at the Muhammadiyah Elementary School in the Kottabarat Surakarta Special Program. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. Data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. To test the validity of the data in this study used triangulation, namely, triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the teacher empowerment strategy used at the Muhammadiyah Elementary School Surakarta Special Kottabarat Program is: (a) mapping the potential and talent possessed by the teacher. (b) attend training from the Education Office. (c) conduct training independently. (d) conduct an evaluation. (2) obstacles that affect the implementation of teacher empowerment activities is time. (3) the solution to the barriers to implementing teacher empowerment activities: (a) conducting teacher turnover (rolling teacher). (b) conduct training during school holidays.
