Abstract

In today's era of modernization that assess a person's happiness is based on the number of properties owned, there are still people who think wealth is not everything even ignore it. Support a family of devotion to the Keraton Surakarta Sultanate who do years with meager wage amount and timing of administration are uncertain. This study aims to understand and describe the meaningfulness of life of people who devote themselves to the palace called courtiers. The method used is qualitative Phenomenology where data collection was obtained from semi-structured interviews with informants using purposive sampling election. Criteria informant in this research that has devoted itself to the palace of at least five years, an active courtiers who always follow the agenda of the palace, and someone who has a family because it has a fairly complex issues in her life. Meaningfulness of life so courtiers can be seen from the pass sincerity in devotion to the palace and tranquility of life they call a blessing in devotion. Making personal always had enough and believe God will give you the best for his people. So that the drive or motivation to courtiers to continue to devote itself to the palace. Meaningfulness of life so courtiers can be seen from the pass sincerity in devotion to the palace and tranquility of life they call a blessing in devotion.
