Abstract
The generator is a device that produces electrical energy that is very important at the generator center, so that to prevent unwanted things from happening, a protection is placed to avoid any kind of interference. Protection relay is electrical equipment specifically designed to separate parts of the electric power system and to operate signals in the event of a system failure. Interference with short circuit current can be avoided by adjusting the relay and determining the adjustment of overcurrent relay in the generator to maintain the reliability and stability of the electric power system and for protection from damage to the generator. At the time of testing the calculation and assessment of the data that has been taken, the results will be compared to get better results and be safe for protection of overcurrent on the generator. The purpose of this study is to compare the settings of the calculation results with the existing settings of the Kedung Ombo hydropower plant. The method used is to do mathematical calculations, so the calculation results will be compared with the existing data obtained from the Kedung Ombo hydropower itself. The results of the calculation show that In (Nominal Flow) has a difference of 0,076%, Is (Setting Flow) has a difference of 40%, TMS (Time Multiplier Setting) has a difference of 60%, and t_op (Time Operation) has a difference of 5%.
