Abstract

Unsafe action that workers do actually give a number of accidents than unsafe condition. Unsafe action can be affected by personal factor. Green explained that personal factor consist of motivation, knowledge and attitude. Based on preliminary studies there was an accident happend to porter on one of stations in Surakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between motivation, knowledge and attitude with unsafe action on porters in the train area of Surakarta. In this study using porters on Solo Balapan Station, Purwosari Stasion and Solo Jebres Stasion. Population in this research amounted to 51 porters, minimum sample taken with Lemeshow. This type of research uses a quantitatif analytic research design with cross sectional approach. Data analysis using Chi Square test. The result of statistic shows that there is a correlation between motivation and unsafe action on porters in the train area of Surakarta (p=0,000). There is a correlation between knowledge and unsafe action on porters in the train area of Surakarta (p=0,000). There is a correlation between attitude and unsafe action on porters in the train area of Surakarta (p=0,000).
