Abstract

Hospital as one of the health service centers has a very vital role in improving public health. With a large number of nurses as one of the professionals in the hospital, efforts to improving hospital services will achieved through efforts to improving nursing services. At present in several hospitals in Indonesia, nursing services do not reflect professional service. Managerial of nursing that has not been optimal is also often to be a crucial phenomenon. The method of administering nursing care that has been applied has not been fully oriented towards patient satisfaction, more for the implementation of tasks. This study was aimed to explore the description of primary nursing care implementation at Orthopedic Hospital of Surakarta. This research is a kind of quantitative descriptive research using case studies design, the population in this study amounted to 14 nurses in Ruang Anggrek I RSO Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta with the sample taken was 10 people. The analysis used is univariate analysis with central tendency. The instruments which applied were questionnaires and observations. The results are, the implementation of Head Nurse and Associate Nurses assignments in Ruang Anggrek I were appropriate, while the Primary Nurse also was appropriate yet there are still quite a lot of laxity. The conclusion from this study is the description of the primary nursing care method at the RSO of Surakarta has run quite well, but there are things that still need to be improved.
