Abstract

Character building is truly required to create qualified generations. The study aimed to: 1) describe the implementation of tahfidz learning in building character of responsibility on upper class students of SDIT Al Falaah Simo, 2) describe problems in implementing tahfidz learning in building character of responsibility on the upper class students of SDIT Al Falaah Simo, and 3) to describe solution in implementing tahfidz learning in building character of responsibility on the upper class students of SDIT Al Falaah Simo. It was a qualitative study. The data were collected by interview, observation, and document. The data triangulation was done by source and technique triangulations. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The result of the study showed that: (1) the implementation of character building of responsibility on upper class students of SDIT Al Falaah Simo run well. It was performed through the following steps: 1) students did the assignment punctually, 2) students obeyed school rule. (2) the problems in implementing tahfidz learning in building character of responsibility on upper class students of SDIT Al Falaah Simo were, first, the different characters of the students. Second, the students’ ability was different. In addition, the environment factor did not support. (3) the solution taken to solve the problems in implementing tahfidz learning in building character of responsibility on upper class students of SDIT Al Falaah Simo were: 1) teachers must be patient in facing students’ different characters. Second, students who had low ability must be taught the materials repeatedly. Third, the environment aspect, which was the cooperation between teacher and parents to build character of responsibility was applied at home to achieve the goal.
