Abstract
Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi (KMHE) 2017 delivered a study on the making of electric cars carried out by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The making of the first prototype electric car, the ABABIL I Electric Car, became the ABABIL II Electric Car, which experienced many improvements. This study aims to measure and evaluate the performance of ABABIL I Electric Cars, becoming ABABIL II Electric Cars, to finally provide recommendations for improvements to the manufacture of the next generation ABABIL Electric Cars. This research was conducted by collecting data in the form of KMHE 2017 regulatory data, taking anthropometric data from the driver, and retrieving data on driver's wishes. Performance measurement is done by doing twelve driving tests, measuring driver comfort with the Nordic Body Map, and measuring driver performance. The results of the ABABIL I Electric Car performance measurement include improvements to the driving room, steering system and driving style, as well as the physical shape of the ABABIL Electric Car I. The results of the repairs are ABABIL II Electric Cars including: initial average speed: 37.3 km/h , end: 42.25 km/h; average initial power consumption: 24.05 wh, end: 23.7583 wh; the average initial mileage: 2.21 km, end: 3.0417 km; initial car mass: 56 kg, end: 37 kg; body location with initial C and D pain points: 9 and 2 body locations, end: 2 and 2 body locations. Further research is needed to improve the performance of electric cars and also develop recommendations for standardized test drives that have been given in this study.
