Abstract

Many people know about national songs that have been created and sung, but have not yet known in detail about the meaning of the contents of the national song as a message conveyed by the maker. In fact, it is often overlooked about the meaning and message conveyed from the national songs, even though the meaning is one of the core of a national song to convey messages about nationalism and love of the country. This study aims to describe the content, meaning, and moral message for the younger generation in the song lyrics "Kepak Sayap Burung Garuda". This study uses a qualitative approach to research design, namely content analysis. The results of this study, namely the lyrics of “Kepak sayap burung Garuda, yang tinggi melayang diatas bumi Nusantara” have meaning as a form of supervision to safeguard the country and as a form of motivation for high ideals to be able to enjoy the results of the nation's hard work. Lyrics “Gagah bagai burung Jatayu, penyelamat Sang Dewi Sintha dari Sang Durjana” has a proud meaning of being an Indonesian child with high nationalism, who is ready to provide the best for the country to safeguard the country from various threats which is also a step towards saving state ideology. The lyrics of “Jagalah Bumi Pertiwi tercinta, Jagalah indah dan kecantikannya” have the meaning of this vast and rich country to be one thing that is worthy of being grateful, guarded and developed. It is unfortunate if God's grace about this country must be wasted. Lyrics “Lindungi dari ganasnya angkara, Lindungi dari kejamnya dunia. Indonesia tercinta, Indonesia Jaya” has the meaning of many threats both from within and from outside making awareness for the Indonesian people to be able to maintain and care for the country to achieve a common goal. Lyrics “Jayalah negeriku, Tanah Air kebanggaanku, tumpah darahku tetap satu” has a meaning as a great hope to achieve the success of the country as the birthplace of the Indonesian people in achieving common goals.
