Abstract
Hypertension accompanied by diabetes mellitus is a disease with significant risk factors for cardiovascular (CV) mortality and morbidity caused by organ damage and categorized as a chronic degenerative disease, so long-term therapy is needed and of course with large medical costs. Therefore, an antihypertensive cost-effectiveness analysis is needed to obtain the most effective therapy with minimal medical costs. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of antihypertensive drug use and evaluate the most cost-effective antihypertensive drug at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2017 on the treatment of hypertension with type 2 diabetes mellitus complications. This study is a non-experimental research, the data collection technique was done retrospectively. The data used are data from medical records and direct medical costs. Cost effectiveness analysis is done by two methods, ACER and ICER. The results of the study were obtained from 41 samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The most widely used antihypertensive drug is Amlodipine in 14 cases (37%). Using the ACER method, the most cost-effective drug combination is Amlodipin 10 mg and Captopril 25 mg with value of Rp. 15.605,06.
