Abstract
This study attempts to study the dimensions of the Al-Pb memo on the results of aluminum (recycled) castings on defense with red sand mold.This study uses used aluminum or rosok material which is smelted again using a crucible furnace. Variations in the size of aluminum dimensions 5 x 5 x 1 cm³ and 7.5 x 7.5 x 1 cm³ using lead by 20%. The casting process is the first time to make red sand mold and core pattern, after that ignition then Al melting process with additional lead (Pb) 20%. Then the smelting is removed from the crucible and then poured into red sand mold. Then the filling has hardened and repaired the mold being unloaded to get the results of the aluminum castings (Al-Pb). Analysis of the data from the results of testing the chemical composition there are 2 dominant (Al) 85.05% dimensions of 5 x 5 x 1 cm³ and (Si) 7.0889 in the case of 7.5 x 7.5 x 1 cm³ resulting from not in this material including aluminum alloy silicon (Al-Si). From the results of the Brinell hardness test obtained for dimensions 7.5 x 7.5 x 1 cm³ variation reached 85.551 BHN higher than the 5 x 5 x 1 cm³ dimension variation of 82.257 BHN.
