Abstract
Puskesmas wastewater is a major problem in environmental control because it will have a negative impact on the environment caused by the content in puskesmas wastewater. One of the ingredients in puskesmas wastewater that has a negative impact on the environment is phosphate. High levels of phosphate thrown away in the environment will cause eutrophication. Eutrophication is the growth of excessive algae in the water. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2014 concerning waste water quality standards the maximum of phosphate content is about 2 mg / L. This research was carried out by the adsorption method. The adsorbent used was High Density Polyethylene or HDPE waste. HDPE waste was put in the furnace at 460oC to become carbon and activated with HCl solution. Then the adsorption process was carried out with activated carbon and puskesmas wastewater put in a 250 mL cup. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of concentration and speed of stirring on the efficiency of phosphate reduction in puskesmas wastewater. And determine the effect of the Langmuir and Freundlich equations on the efficiency of phosphate reduction in puskesmas wastewater. Phosphate content in Puskesmas liquid waste can be known using spectrophotometric tests. The results of this study the highest efficiency in the variation of 70% V waste concentration of 71.79%. The highest efficiency at variation of stirring speed 300 rpm is 78.86%. The Langmuir equation obtained the highest adsorption capacity (K) at a concentration of 70% V and stirring speed of 500 rpm which was equal to -0.92 mg / g and the Langmuir equation constant was 0.52 with a regression value (R2) of 0.9935. Further the Freundlich equation obtained the highest adsorption capacity (k) at a concentration of 70% V and stirring speed of 300 rpm which is equal to 1.03 mg / g and the Freundlich equation constant is 3.28 with a regression value (R2) that is equal to 0.9811. The Freundlich equation is more appropriate than the Langmuir equation.
