Abstract

Learning media is a tool that is used to help teacher in teaching-learning process. The aims of this research are: (1) explaining the kind of speaking skill-learning media innovation in lower grades students of State Elementary School (SDN) 01 Jekulo; (2) describing the implementation of speaking skill-learning media innovation in lower grades; (3) drawing out the problems faced by teachers in implementing speaking-skill learning media innovation in lower grades. This research is a descriptive-qualitative research and case study design. The methods of collecting data are observation, interview and documentation. The validity of the data by using two kinds of triangulation namely source triangulation and technical triangulation. The tecknis analysis of the data in this research is done by data reduction, dataserving and drawing conclusion. The result shows that: (1) there are two kinds of learning media innovations, they are visual media in the form of picture and audiovisual media in the form of learning video; (2) the implementation of media innovation has three phase, the first is planning, planning the appropriate media to the available material in school, the second is implementation or execution, implementing the learning media innovation that has been planned, the third is evaluation, evaluation is conducted after the learning in using media finishes; (3) problems faced by the teachers in using media which is the class control.
