Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 is diabetes caused by decrease of insulin produce. The incidence of DM patients will increase continuously if there is no prevention of DM incidence The are some factors that cause DM, such as hereditary factors, viruses, and bacteria, toxic substances, and nutrients. The source of blood sugar level in the human body comes from food consume, beside the history of heredity and obesity are considered to be trigger factors for type 2 diabetes. The purpose of researchto describe the risk factors of diabetes mellitus in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2in PRESADIA branch of Surakarta. The type of research is descriptive survey with primary data. Population of DM type 2 patients in PERSADIA branch of Surakarta. Sample of the research are 89 people. Sampling technique is total sampling. The results of research arepatients with DM type 2 in PERSADIA branch of Surakarta most of the women 68 people (76.4%), age 45 tahun87 people (97,8%), normal Body Mass Index (BMI) 73 people (82 %), no smoking history 81 people (91%), with DM genetic factors 52 people (58.4%), with heavy physical activities 65 people (73%), with poor diet 54 people (60.7%). The conclusion of researchthe most members in PERSADIA branch of Surakarta are women, age 45 years, with normal Body Mass Index (BMI), no smoking history, with DM genetic factors, heavy physical activity, and poor diet.
