Abstract

The main problem in the development of an area is economic inequality. In this study the author took the title "analysis of economic inequality in East Java Province and the factors that influence it (in 2012-2016). The dependent variable of this study is economic inequality taken from the gini index. The dependent variable in this study is 3, namely GRDP, population and human development index. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of GDP, population and HDI on economic inequality. The data used are secondary data sourced from the BPS of East Java Province and analysis tools, namely panel regression. The results of data processing, namely the model used is the FEM / Fixed Effect Method model. The GDP and population variables do not affect the economic gap and the HDI variable has a significant influence on economic inequality.
