Abstract
One of the Technology innovation in agriculture that have been done by farmer is organic farming system. One of the villages that has implemented it is Gempol village, Karanganom sub-district, Klaten Regency. Farmers in Gempol village have been developing organic agriculture since 2012 and have obtained SNI certificates as organic rice producers on 2016. The purpose of this study is to find out the diffusion of innovation process of organic rice in Gempol Village, Karanganom Sub-district, Klaten Regency. The research method used in this research is qualitative research method. This research is called qualitative research because it emphasizes on observating in the field and the data is analyzed non-statiscally. The collected data is divided into two, namely primary data and secondary data. Researcher collected primary data by in-depth interviews, while secondary data is obtained through journals, documentation, and photo that related and relevant to the object of the research. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman Model through three stages, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation in sentences and bagan form, and (3) Conclusion withdrawals. The result of this study are that the diffusion of innovation in the organic farming system in Gempol village is pursued through 5 stages which have characteristics from each stage. These stages are knowledge stage, persuasion stage, decision stage, implementation stage, and the last confirmation stage. The conclusion of this study is the diffusion of information carried out by organic rice farmers to conventional farmers is very effective, with the result that changing the conventional pattern to the pattern of organic rice system has a positive impact on economic field which drives developing people’s economy.
