Abstract
This study aims to analyze and describe: 1) political influence in the National Education System in Indonesia, and 2) political influence on the curriculum in the National Education System. This research is a qualitative study with a literature study approach. Data is collected through document studies. Data were analyzed using interactive model analysis. The results of this study indicate that 1) Politics in the National Education System in Indonesia has an effect on the education budget and educational resources. In addition, politics also affects curriculum change. Based on the historical chronology of the national education curriculum there has been a change in curriculum from 1947 to 2013. The change in curriculum turned out to occur when there was a change in political conditions in Indonesia. Political change turned out to be followed by changes in curriculum policies in the national education system. This shows that there is a political influence with the national education system that is identified by the existence of curriculum changes in Indonesia. 2) The political influence of the curriculum in the national education system is actually the elimination of some subjects, the reduction and incorporation of subject matter with the aim of the efficiency and effectiveness of education.
