Abstract

Gout is a progressive disease due to the deposition of monosodium urate (MSU) crystals found in the joints, kidneys and other connective tissue as a result of chronic hyperuricemia.The incidence of gout often occurs in men than women, with a ratio of 13,6 of 1000 men and 6,4 of 1000 women. The incidence of gout continues to increase with age, in men >75 years old it increases by 7% while in women>85 years old increases by 3%. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of drugs in gout patients at RSUP Dr.Kariadi Semarang in 2017 which is reviewed from the exact parameters of indication, right of patient, right of medication, and right dose. This research is a type of non-experimental research, data retrieval is done retrospectively by looking at the medical record data of gout patients and analyzed descriptively. Sampling was 30 patients with purposive sampling method. The inclusion criteria in this study were patients diagnosed with gout and given gout with complete medical record data. The reference standard used is the 2018 Indonesian Rheumatology Association, American College of Rheumatology 2012 and Drug Information Handbook 2009, Geriatric Dosage Handbook 16th Edition. Results of research evaluating drug use in 30 gout patients at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang in 2017 is 100% precise indication, 100% right patient, 100% right medicine, and 90% right dose.
