Abstract

The problem of education methods is a problem that really needs to be considered especially for educators, because the right selection method will determine the success of a student in achieving mastery learning. If educators choose an inappropriate or ineffective method it will lead to monotonous learning and less success. To present a pleasant atmosphere for the students, a teacher must know the ways or methods that must be applied, so that students have a sense of happiness and happiness to take part in learning and of course students will be motivated by that. Therefore students must have a method game-based teaching or 2 excitement, in addition to the need for knowledge. One of them is by using the Role Playing method. This study discusses the development of the role playing method to increase students' interest in learning in Arabic subjects in class X Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta Senior High School Academic Year 2018/2019. This research is a field research (field research), with data collection carried out using the method of interviews, observation and documentation that can support research studies. Data analysis is done by deductive method. The subjects in this study were students of class X and the object of this research was the application of strategies to develop Role Playing methods to increase interest in Arabic subjects. The results of the study show that: 1) The application of the Role Playing method developer strategy is able to increase student interest seen from the changing attitudes of students in the learning process the more active, happy, willing to try and they are so enthusiastic. 2) The application of Role Playing learning strategies in learning Arabic can be successful and seen from the comparison table of UH 1 with UH 2 learning Arabic in class X of Muhammadiyah 3 Senior High School in Surakarta.
