Abstract

North Klaten District is administratively located in Klaten Regency, Central Java Province. Has superior industrial potential which later became a small industry group namely the Mabel Industry. The objectives of this study are (1) To analyst the socio-economic characteristics of furniture industry entrepreneurs in North Klaten District (2) To analyst the factors that influence the sustainability of small furniture industries in North Klaten District in 2018. (3) To analyst the marketing area of small industrial businesses furniture in Klaten Utara Subdistrict in 2018, (4) To analyst the influence of furniture business community associations on the sustainability of small furniture industries in North Klaten District in 2018. Census method is used to achieve the research objectives. The population in this study were 43 furniture entrepreneurs. To obtain data, interviews were conducted with questionnaires. Frequency table analysis and cross table analysis are used to facilitate data analysis. The results of this study based on socio-economic characteristics are known that 100% of furniture owners are male. Based on age, 83% were of productive age and 73% were non-productive. The most recent education is high school / vocational school. The longest established business is 15 to 35 years. Origin of capital comes from personal money and bank loans. Area of origin of labor from 1 village and 1 sub-district with business location. Teak wood raw materials from Wonogiri and Gunung Kidul community forests must have evidence of timber legality verification. The price range offered for products sold is Rp. 1,000,000.00 to Rp. 10,000,000.00. The strategic area of marketing and sales of the furniture industry up to outside the province, namely the DIY Province, West Java and East Java. To oversee the furniture industry association there are the Paguyuban Manunggaling Jati and the Klaten Furniture Industry Trade Association.
