Abstract

Junior High School students, in the learning process, are still manually utilizingprinted books to handle and learn, however this methodisineffective. In addition, students tend to be lazy to search and purchase books for grip in their study. Therefore, it needs an interesting learning medium to facilitate students in learning. Based on these problems, the researcher designed, built and testedon biology subjects in terms of the classification of animals throughapplications based learning medium that display attractive information with pictures and videos; thereforeit is able to attract interest and assist students in learning the biology subject, especially concerning the classification of animals. This learning mediumis created with the programming language PHP, Javascript, CSS, MySQL and AJAX. The method used is the waterfall method. The application of instructional media for classification of animals shows material about invertebrates and vertebrates as well as classifying and identifying based on their characteristics. And it is hoped that this application will help junior secondary students to improve their understanding of learning animals classification so that students can accomplish the minimum criteriaof completeness values
