Abstract
Mental disorders are chronic diseases. The number of patients with mental disorders in psychiatric hospital Surakarta is increasing every year. From the increase in the number of patients not only new patients mental disorders, but there are also mental patients who recurrence. There are many factors that affect recurrence of people with mental disorders, some of which are family support, availability of health services and utilization of health facilities, compliance with medication, and environmental factors. This study aims to describe the trigger factors of recurrence patients who readmission to the emergency room of a psychiatric hospital. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive analytic research design using a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 71 respondents who mental disorder patients who were relapsing and readmision to the emergency room psychiatric hospital, taken by purposive quota sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaires was then analyzed by descriptive analysis using central tendencies including mean, median and mode, using maximum and minimum percentages and logistic regression tests. The conclusion in this study is the biggest trigger factor, namely patient compliance in taking medication, then family support, and the last use of health facilities. Environmental factors remain influential in recurrence even with a small value of influence. Description of the frequency of recurrence of mental patients is mostly in the category of rare relapses and the rest in the category often recur.
