Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure usually known as silent killer because people who suffer Hypertension for couple years usually don’t know until complication happen, such as damage of severe vital organ which is cause death. 70% of Hypertensive patient don’t know they suffer Hypertension until they check themself to health center. The rest of it, Hypertensive patient have signs and symptoms like dizzy, tight on the nape of the neck and frequently heart pounding really fast (Adib, 2009). Anxiety usually happen from the emotional response when Hypertensive patient feel scared, then followed by another signs and other symptoms such as tension, fear, anxiety, and vigilance Townsend, 2014 (in Pratiwi Dewi 2016). One of indicator that can change the Hypertension is anxiety. Anxiety cause activity of the hypothalamus which control two systems neuroendocrine, which is sympathetic nerve system trigger the activity of various organs and one of the function of smooth muscle is increase the heart rate and release epinephrine and norepinephrine into the bloodstream by the adrenal medulla (Sherwood, 2010). Purpose: To describe the anxiety of Hypertensive patient in Kartasura health center. Method: The research used descriptive quantitative analysis with a cross sectional approach. Results:.There were 84 respondents in the study consisting of 59 (70.2%) and 25 men (29.8%). The description of the crime rate obtained includes a total of 63 (75.0%) and moderate spells of 21 (25%).Conclusion: Characteristic of Hypertensive patient in Kartasura health center are more than 36 years old, female sex, working as laborer and suffering from hypertension for more than a year. The anxiety level for most of adult are mild. The level of anxiety for hypertensive patient divided by two results, namely mild and moderate.
