Abstract
The rapid development of technology in the industrial world must also be accompanied by the development of the world of education, therefore the Industrial Engineering Study Program of Muhammadiyah Surakarta University provides Industrial Automation courses to bridge students studying industrial automation systems, but on the implementation of teaching and learning open questionnaire to automation assistants and students, it can be concluded that the teaching and learning process lacks visualization tools. Looking at these conditions researchers who are also members of the industrial automation community aim to design automation systems that combine PLC and Pneumatic control systems BY using the reverse engineering method. Designing and developing using the reverse engineering method, the results of designing and developing with the reverse engginering method are obtained the tool of PLC control system trainer and Pneumatic who visualize material handling process, sorting process and packaging process representing the assembling process.The components contained in the tool 1. The process of material handling uses a cylinder rotary component, dual rod cylinder, water gripper cylinder and conveyor), the sorting process uses a doubel acting cylinder and inductive proximity sensor, the packaging process uses cylinder doubel components acting, photosensor sensors and boxes contain products. The results showed that the highest score IS 96 which indicates that the industrial automation trainer tool can help students understand about PLC and Pneumatic control systems, while the lowest score is 74 mentioning the weakness in the wiring system, because the installation of wiring is in the trainer tool table so it is not visible .
