Abstract

The nutritional status of children under five was an important thing that must be known by every parent. Toddler children aged 1-5 years was a very valuable period in the process of human growth and development. The causes of malnutrition can be influenced by several factors including internal and external factors. Internal factors were food intake and infectious diseases. External factors were parental education, type of work, parental income, maternal knowledge of food availability and food consumption patterns.. Objective Knowing the relationship between maternal education level, mother's knowledge and parents' income with nutritional status of children under five years of age in Duwet Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency. The type of this study was observational research, using the Crosssectional approach. The subjects in this study were 47 toddlers who were randomly selected using simple random sampling in 6 posyandu. Data on education level, maternal knowledge and parental income were obtained using a questionnaire, the knowledge questionnaire used was closed containing 24 statements. Nutritional status was obtained by anthropometric measurements, namely measuring body weight. The statistical test used is the chi-square test. The results showed that there were 38.3% of mothers with basic education and 61.7% of mothers with further education. Good knowledgeable mothers as much as 51.1% and mothers with less knowledge of 48.9%. Highincome parents of 48.9% and low income of 51.1%. Nutritional status of toddlers based on BB / U is 70.2% good nutrition toddlers and 29.8% malnourished children under five. There was a relationship between the education level of mothers with nutritional status of children under five years of age (p = 0.017), there was a relationship between knowledge of mothers with nutritional status of children under five years of age (p = 0.008) based on BB / U and there was a relationship between income parents with nutritional status of children under five aged 1-5 years (p = 0.002).
