Abstract
Pulp is a paper making material which is cellulose derived chemical compounds. Pulp can be made from various types of wood, bamboo, and grasses through various manufacturing processes of machinery, semichemistry, and chemistry. So far, paper-making raw materials only come from wood, but this time more than 100% more than materials usually issued by the community, ie coconut coir waste as an alternative material of quality paper making. This research used young coconut husk as raw material for making porridge with microwave cooker and using NaOH as solvent. The variables are 5%, 10%, 15% NaOH concentration, 180 watt microwave power, 300 watt, 450watt, and cooking time constant at 45 min.
