Abstract

This study aims to determine the role played by the teachers of Islamic Education in the implementation of tahfidz al-Qur'an in Muhammadiyah Miri At-Taqwa Vocational High School, how to implement tahfidz al-Qur'an in At-Taqwa Muhammadiyah Miri Vocational High School, and how the results tahfidz al-Qur'an learning at At-Taqwa Muhammadiyah Miri Vocational School. This type of research is a type of field research using qualitative methods. Data collection in this study uses interviews, observation and documentation. While the method of data analysis uses deductive analysis. The results of this study indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers have several roles in the implementation of tahfidz learning in At-Taqwa Muhammadiyah Miri Vocational High School, including: initiators, inspirators, motivators, mentors, evaluators, and mediators. Then in the implementation of tahfidz learning is divided into two classes, namely regular (regular) classes and ma'had (special) classes. For the regular class, the learning process is carried out during formal learning hours in class, while for the ma'had class the learning process is 2 carried out during non-formal hours, ie outside the classroom is usually held in the morning and evening in the mosque. Then for the results of the implementation of tahfidz learning in At-Taqwa Muhammadiyah Miri Vocational School as a whole has been quite successful, it is evident that many students have been able to memorize the Koran according to the target, namely 3 juz for the ma'had class and 1.5 juz for regular classes. Of the 18 students in the class Ma'had 8 of them have been able to memorize more than 3 juz, and of the students in the regular class 5 of them have been able to memorize 1.5 juz. That number will continue to grow until the school year ends.
