Abstract

To achieve peak performance, players must have high performance. One component that can produce high performance is power. Power (explosive power) is a measure of muscle performance, which is related to strength and speed of motion, and can be defined as work per unit of time (force x distance / time). In some sports, power is a very important component to achieve peak performance. OBJECTIVE: To get an idea of the level of explosive power in UMS volleyball players. SUBJECTS: The population in this study were all UMS male and female volleyball players and the samples in this study were 24 male and female volleyball players. RESEARCH DESIGN: This research is a non-experimental research (descriptive study) with a cross sectional design. In this study, we only describe the picture of the amount of power in each athlete who is different. We will describe the amount of power based on age, gender, and BMI (Body Mass Index). RESULTS: Results of research conducted on basketball players at Muhammadiyah University Surakarta. It was concluded that in the volleyball players group of respondents with explosive power (Power) with a good category of 8 respondents, respondents with the category of moderate power (Power) as much as 4 respondents. While in the Princess volleyball player group the respondents with explosive power (Power) with a good category of 5 respondents, respondents with the category of moderate power (Power) as many as 8 respondents.
