Abstract
Gasification is a process of converting a solid fuel thermochemically into a gas, in which the required air is lower than the air used for the combustion process. This research was conducted with the aim to know the effect of fuel husk rice, corncob, and coconut shell to combustion temperature, initial startup of ignition time and effective flame time on downdraft gasification furnace. Research is done by varying the fuel, that is by fuel of rice husk, corncob, and coconut shell then retrieve data including combustion temperature, initial startup of ignition time and effective flame time. The results showed that rice husk variation, corncob and coconut shell affected the combustion temperature, initial startup of ignition time and effective flame time. The highest temperature average occurs in coconut shell fuel with temperature reaching 777 ° C, while the fastest start-up of ignition time in rice husk fuel is at 6 minutes, and the coconut shell’s fuel have the longest effective flame time in 60 minutes.
