Abstract
This study aims to describe the perceptions of the local community about commercial sex workers, social relations, and the impact received. The research subjects were commercial sex workers and the community. The study used a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques for interviewing, observation, and documentation as well as interactive data analysis. The results of the study illustrate that there are several perceptions, namely people who refuse because they feel disturbed by the existence of commercial sex workers, then the people who support because they feel financially benefited such as homemakers, hotels, food stalls, grocery stores, and transportation and people who are indifferent prostitution in their neighborhood. Social relations of the community with commercial sex workers can be through activities such as health education, participation of commercial sex workers in activities organized by citizens such as health counseling by PKK mothers, respiration given by PKK mothers is very open and there is no discrimination besides work activities devotion. The response given by the community was different, as there were those who received enthusiastically and some even gossiped about the prostitutes directly during the community service activities. The impact caused by the existence of commercial sex workers namely in the social sector can reduce moral, moral, legal and religious values, in the economic sector the presence of commercial sex workers around the RRI area makes some people feel very economically benefited. According to some people, the existence of a PSK complex will benefit residents who sell and open stores or stalls in the surrounding area, because traders are able to increase their selling prices, then in the health sector with the existence of free sex activities in the RRI area, infectious sexually transmitted diseases occur. which is often called HIV and AIDS.
