Abstract
This study aims to analyze and describe factually the process, the needs of teachers and students in the assessment of listening skills in learning Indonesian in SMP N 2 Cawas Klaten. The subjects were Indonesian language teacher and grade VII students at SMP N 2 Cawas. Sources of data as the basis of analysis in this study is the results of interviews and direct observations that are carried out when learning. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. Data collection was done through observation of the book and interview with students and teachers of SMP N 2 Cawas. The results showed that the teacher has been carrying out the assessment of listening skill according to the curriculum of 2013, but found some obstacles in its implementation include: the limited assessment time due to the less conducive of the class during the assessment process, the tools or facilities used are not sufficient to support the assessment process. Teachers and students desperately need more facilities and infrastructure in implementing learning activities and assessment of listening skills. Key word : Listening skills, Curikulum in 2013
