Abstract
Introduction: High activities and routines as student could lead to changed in dietary habit and the occurrance of lack sleep's-duration. Lack of sleep's-duration may affected the ghrelin hormone increase, thus caused an increase in appetite. Food intake had the most impacted in triggering high cholesterol. Objective: This study was aimed to determine the relationship of the sleep's-duration and food intake on cholesterol levels Pesma KH Mas Mansyur students'. Research Method: This research was an observational cross-sectional approach. The research subjects were 33 students from PESMA KH Mas Mansyur which age of 18-21 years with regarded to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. Sleep-duration data collected by using sleep diaries, food intake by using a 24-hour recall for 3 times are not in a row, and cholesterol by using Cholesterol-Peroxidase Aminoantipyrine Phenol Oxidase (CHOD-PAP). The analysis data of sleep duration on cholesterol levels and food intake on cholesterol levels is used Person Product Moment (PPM). Result: The results showed 75.88% less sleep-duration, 39.4% more fat intake, carbohydrate intake is 36.4%, 100% less fiber intake. 63.6% of normal cholesterol levels. Conclusion: The resulted of statistical tests there were no relationship between sleep duration on cholesterol levels (p = 0.224), no relationship between fat on cholesterol levels (p = 0.044), there were had a relationship between carbohydrate on cholesterol levels (p = 0.023), there were no relationship between fiber on cholesterol levels (p = 0.485).
