Abstract
Cervical cancer is caused by many factors. These factors include smoking, washing the vagina with antiseptics, having sex too early, changing sexual partners, and using estrogen. Patients with cervical cancer who are outpatient in the Poly Obgyn Department and hospitalized in the Mawar Ward 3 Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in January-April 2018 as many as 1,085. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between smoking behavior and personal hygiene of the reproductive organs with the incidence of cervical cancer. This type of observational research uses a case control design. The samples from this study were outpatients at Poli Obsgyn and hospitalizations in Bangsal Mawar 3 RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The total sample is at least 101 people, with a ratio of 1: 1, a total sample of 202 people. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling. The analysis used is Chi Square. The results of the statistical test showed that there was a significant relationship between the frequency of changing pads (p-value 0.013; OR 2.181; 95% CI 1,214-3,917) and abnormal vaginal discharge (p-value 0,000; OR 5,100; 95% CI 2,775-9,374) with incidence cervical cancer in Dr. Hospital Moewardi, but there was no relationship between smoking (p-value 0.245), exposure to cigarette smoke from family members (p-value 0.849), exposure to cigarette smoke from the environment (p-value 0.849), exposure to secondhand smoke (p-value 0.692 ), frequency of wearing underwear (p-value 0.669), pH of vaginal cleansing soap (p-value 0.710), frequency of soap use pH> 4 (p-value 0.357), direction of splash (p-value 1,000), drying the vagina with a cloth / towel (p-value 0.573) with the incidence of cervical cancer in Dr. Hospital Moewardi.
