Abstract

This research aims to know the relationship of democratic parenting parents with kindergarten B child independence in Sukoharjo, Weru. The research design is descriptive correlational. The population in this research were 296 children from 21 kindergartens. A sample of 75 children, taken by using proportional random sampling area. Parenting Data and child independence obtained through questionnaire given to parents. Data were analyzed using correlation and simple regression analysis. Based on the calculation of correlation analysis obtained correlation coefficient (rxy) = 0.299, which means there is low positive correlation, and the level of significance 0.009 < 0.05 so Ho is rejected. Based on these results it can be seen that there is positive significant relationship between parenting (democratic) to child independence of children. Based on simple linear regression analysis obtained the effective contribution of 8,9%.
