Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze: (1) the effect of the use of learning strategies on mathematics learning outcomes, (2) the effect of student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes, (3) the interaction effects between learning strategies and student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes. This type of quantitative and quasi-experimental research. The population of this research is the eighth grade students of Muhammadiyah Middle School 1 Surakarta. The samples in this study were VIII PK and VIII D which were selected using cluster random sampling technique. The technique of collecting data uses test methods, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses two-way variance analysis with unequal cells. Post-anova test using the Scheffe method. The results of the study with α = 5% are: 1) There are differences in student mathematics learning outcomes between the Teams Games Tournament learning strategy and Numbered Head Together, this is based on the learning process taking place and the marginal average calculation results show Teams Games Tournament learning strategies are better than Numbered Head together. 2) There is the influence of student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes, based on further tests after anova can be concluded that there are significant differences between the categories of visual learning styles with the category of kinesthetic learning styles. 3) There is no interaction between the Teams Games Tournament and Numbered Head Together learning strategies and the categories of visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles for mathematics learning outcomes.
