Abstract

Impacted teeth is a pathological condition may be define as the failure of complete eruption into a normal functional position of tooth within normal time. Factors that cause impacted teeth are due to lack of space, cysts, supernumerary teeth, retention of deciduous teeth, infection, trauma, anomalies and systemic conditions. The population may affect the prevalence and incidence of impacted teeth in each country. Objective: To know the sociodemographic data and prevalence and incidence of impacted teeth in RSUD Dr.Moewardi, Surakarta period 2013-2017. This study was using a retrospective descriptive method with cross sectional study design. Research subjects are secondary data in the form of medical records of patients who was diagnosed with impacted teeth in 2013 until 2017. From 5548 medical records obtained prevalence of impacted teeth period 2013-2017 (13,2%) and the most incidence in 2014 (7,5%). In sociodemographic data, from 200 medical records found more impacted teeth occur in women (53%), and the most in the age of 20-29 years (33,5%). Impacted teeth most often occurs in the lower jaw (54%) while the most affected teeth was third molar. The most prevalent of impacted teeth is occur in women and in 20-29 year old, while the location of most impacted teeth on the lower jaw and the most affected teeth is the third molar.
